Swiftwater Rescue Class near Missoula April 5-7

WHERE/WHEN TO MEET
April 5, 9am at the Montana River Guides headquarters, 138 Big Bend Lane Alberton, Montana, 59820. 

DETAILS:Hope you've had a great winter and are ready to be on the river.  The first day we'll be in the classroom briefly during the morning and out on the river the rest of the day. You'll have the option of rafting, kayaking or river boarding the Alberton Gorge.  So bring your river gear and a sack lunch. 
Keep in mind that, although this is a river rescue class, we cannot guarantee your safety. You'll need to sign an acknowledgment of risk form that outlines some of the risk inherent in this type of training. No experience is necessary but you should be reasonably fit with swimming ability and able to walk up and down uneven terrain. We'll tailor the class to meet your experience level and expectations. This class meets NFPA Standards and is certified through the Whitewater Rescue Institute. 
Reservation Policy: Our cancellation policy requires a 50 % deposit to hold your spot. Cancellations within two weeks of class must pay the deposit. No shows are charged the full tuition.  Tuition ranges from $295 to $335 depending on the class. WHAT TO BRING/ PERSONAL GEAR FOR THE RIVER
Cold weather boating gear 
Drysuit or Wetsuit/ Paddle Jacket Combo 
River Helmet
Skull Cap/Hat
Neoprene river booties/shoes or sox
Lifejacket
Neoprene River Gloves
Xtra warm layers
Sack lunch and plenty of water for each river day. **No Glass Containers
**A farmer john wetsuit with a dry/paddle top will work fine. A drysuit or full wetsuit for the early classes in April and May is better. Either way bring plenty of extra warm layers (fleece, polypro, wool, capilene, etc..). Do not wear any cotton clothing during the river days. If needed, you can rent personal gear from Montana River Guides. $25 will get you a farmer john wetsuit, paddle jacket, helmet, booties, gloves and a lifejacket. You can arrange rentals prior to class by email or phone. We’ll need your approximate height, weight and shoe size.

Day 2-9 am to 6 pm * Sometimes we go later (Blackfoot River)
Day 3-9 am to 5 pm (TBA--Gorge or Roundup--Blackfoot River)
